PC Create custom symbol

In MetaTrader5 (MT5), you can create custom symbols, import historical data, and display the price on your chart. Please note that you cannot delete or overwrite the historical data in MT5, so you must create a custom symbol for every historical data you wish to import. Here we will look at how to create a custom symbol.(*1)

Step 1

Click "View" in the menu and select "Symbols". (Shortcut keys: Ctrl+U)

In the "Specification" tab, click "Create Custom Symbol".

Double-click each parameter to configure. After completing the settings, click "OK".

To copy the settings of an existing symbol, select the existing symbol in the "Copy from" field. Change the symbol name and the parameters you don't wish to copy, and click "OK".

Step 4

Select the symbol you have created and click "Show Symbol". The symbol with yellow "$" is shown in the Market Watch. If "$" is gray, the symbol is not shown. After making sure that "$" is yellow, click "OK". You can also show or hide a symbol by double-clicking its "$".
