On MetaTrader4 (MT4) / MetaTrader5 (MT5), the auto-scroll function for the chart is turned ON by default to keep you up to date with the most recent price. The most recent candlestick is automatically displayed when the chart is updated. If you wish to check the past data, turn the auto-scroll function OFF.

Here we will look at how to toggle auto-scroll on and off on MT4/MT5.

Switch between MT4/MT5 tabs to check the steps for each.

You can toggle auto-scroll from the menu or the toolbar.

Click "Charts" in the menu and select "Auto Scroll".
