Recap of previous trading day (February 10)

Yesterday the USDJPY traded weakly after reaching a high of 156.29 around GMT 00:30, with disappointing U.S. retail sales data released at GMT 13:30 further supporting yen strength. The pair hit a low of 154.05 shortly after GMT 16:00 and trading for the day closed at 154.38 yen.

Recap of the Tokyo market and outlook going forward

Today the USDJPY continues its weak performance, breaking below the 154-yen range as dollar selling persists amid U.S. economic slowdown concerns, with Tokyo markets closed. The price reached a low of 153.34 around GMT 04:30.

Looking at the 1-hour chart of the USDJPY (as of GMT 04:40 on February 11), a strong downward trend continues below the middle line. A decisive break below 153 yen could lead to further downside toward the January 27 low of 152.09 yen
